Pinhole Design was formed in 1998 by husband & wife Andrew & Kylie Sparkes, Kylie predominantly running the business in the early days with Andrew helping out when necessary.
Both Kylie and Andrew are fully trained graphic designers, who met whilst studying for their HND in design communications. Kylie worked straight out of college within a print company as their in-house graphic designer, going on to start pinhole design in 1998. Andrew worked for a video production house in Essex as a graphic designer & photographer, going on to work full-time with Kylie for approximately 1 year in 2000, after working on a job through Pinhole, Andrew joined Pelican Studios in late 2000 to help them develop their multimedia work, with Pelican at that time consisting of the 2 directors & one other employee. After 9 years of service at a senior level helping to shape the agency Andrew decided to leave Pelican which now stood at 30 employees and a turnover of over £2.5m and focus his attentions on the development of Pinhole Design.
Andrew has worked on many high profile projects for clients such as: The BBC, Sky Television, Hat Trick Productions, Burger King, Peugeot, Barratt Homes, The Sultan of Brunei, Melanie B (former member of the Spice Girls) Richard Rogers Partnership, BAA, Greenwich Millennium Village & Lloyds of London. Andrew has now added Care UK PLC to his client list in April of 2010, the first large account for Pinhole Design.
Andrew Sparkes is an experienced designer & photographer, working on all aspects of printed material from brochures to exhibition graphics, he has directed video productions to be used in large multimedia presentations, aerial & location footage shot on HD gyroscopically stabilised cameras on helicopters to broadcast TV programmes.
Our aim is to offer agency services at freelance prices without compromising on the end product, this is achieved by keeping overheads to a minimum and utilising an extensive network of professionals who also have the same goals. This creates a micro agency but without the overheads keeping costs to an absolute minimum.
